Bread and Butter Jalapeno Pickles

Make your own Bread and Butter Jalapeno Pickles for a deliciously spicy crunch you can enjoy at home.

Ingredients

  • 6 jalapeno peppers, sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced jalapenos and onion.
  2. In a saucepan, mix sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard seeds, celery seeds, and turmeric. Bring to a boil.
  3. Pour the hot mixture over the jalapenos and onions.
  4. Let it cool, then transfer to jars and refrigerate.
  5. Allow pickles to sit for at least 24 hours before enjoying.

Notes

  • For a milder flavor, remove the seeds from the jalapenos.
  • These pickles can be enjoyed for up to 2 months when refrigerated.
