Chocolate Mousse Brownies: Creamy Layers With Decadent Flavor

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon gelatin

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and sugars over low heat until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until well combined.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan.
  8. To make the mousse, heat the heavy cream and pour it over the chopped chocolate, stirring until smooth.
  9. Dissolve the gelatin in a tablespoon of cold water and mix it into the chocolate mixture.
  10. Spread the mousse over the cooled brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  11. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
