- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cans (6 ounces) tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and sausage, cooking until browned.
- Add garlic, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the mozzarella. Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish, followed by noodles, and then cheese mixture. Repeat layers.
- Top with remaining meat sauce and mozzarella. Sprinkle grated Parmesan on top.
- Bake for 45 minutes, let it cool for 15 minutes before serving.
