Gluten-Free Croque Madame

An indulgent recipe for a gluten-free Croque Madame featuring turkey bacon.

  • 4 slices gluten-free bread
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., Gruyère or Swiss)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy.
  3. Spread Dijon mustard on one side of each slice of gluten-free bread.
  4. Layer the turkey bacon and cheese on two slices of bread, then top with the other slices.
  5. Melt butter in the skillet, then cook each sandwich until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Transfer sandwiches to a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes, until cheese is melted.
  7. Fry the eggs in the skillet sunny-side up, and place one on top of each sandwich before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add herbs or spices to the egg mixture.
