  • 4 pieces turkey bacon
  • 1 whole chicken, cut into parts
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, sauté turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, brown the chicken pieces on all sides.
  3. Add onion, carrots, and garlic; cook until vegetables are softened.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Add red wine, chicken broth, tomato paste, thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  6. Return bacon to the pot, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove bay leaf and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, let the dish sit overnight in the refrigerator.
