  • 1 package Kataifi dough
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the melted butter with the Kataifi dough until well coated.
  3. Spread half of the dough mixture in a greased baking dish.
  4. Evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella cheese over the dough.
  5. Add the remaining Kataifi dough on top of the cheese.
  6. Bake for about 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  7. While the dough is baking, prepare the syrup by boiling sugar, water, and lemon juice for 10 minutes.
  8. Once the dough is baked, pour the syrup over it and let it soak for a few minutes.
  9. Serve warm, garnished with crushed pistachios if desired.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider infusing the syrup with rose water.
  • Use a mixture of nuts for variety.
