Maple Bacon Baked Beans

Delicious maple bacon baked beans made with turkey bacon for a lighter twist on a classic dish.

  • 1 pound dried navy beans
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook beans according to package instructions until tender.
  3. In a skillet, cook turkey bacon until crispy.
  4. Add onions and sauté until translucent.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked beans, bacon mixture, maple syrup, mustard, ketchup, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and cover with foil.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, removing the foil for the last 15 minutes to brown the top.

Notes
