Ruth’s Chris Creamy Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

Deliciously creamy and cheesy scalloped potatoes topped with crispy turkey bacon, inspired by the classic Ruth’s Chris recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Yukon gold potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Thinly slice the Yukon gold potatoes and arrange half of the slices in the dish.
  4. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese and half of the crumbled turkey bacon over the potatoes.
  7. Add the remaining potatoes and repeat the layering with the cream mixture, cheese, and bacon.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme.
  • Make sure to cut the potatoes uniformly for even cooking.
