  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; gradually mix into the creamed mixture.
  5. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  6. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Add a small dollop of caramel sauce on top of each cookie dough ball and sprinkle with sea salt.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm.
  9. Let cool on the cookie sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
