Spicy Shakshouka

A delightful and spicy take on shakshouka, featuring turkey bacon and chicken ham for added flavor.

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup diced turkey bacon
  • 1 cup diced chicken ham
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 bell peppers, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the turkey bacon and chicken ham, cooking until browned.
  3. Stir in the onion, bell peppers, and garlic, cooking until softened.
  4. Add the crushed tomatoes, smoked paprika, cayenne, cumin, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Make small wells in the mixture and crack an egg into each well. Cover and cook until eggs are set to your liking.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
