  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional minute.
  4. Add the crushed tomatoes and vodka to the skillet, simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  6. Mix in the cooked pasta, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
