Tartiflette French Potato Turkey Bacon and Cheese Casserole

A creamy and indulgent French dish made with layers of potatoes, turkey bacon, and cheese.

  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 8 ounces turkey bacon
  • 1 cup crème fraîche
  • 2 cups Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
  3. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
  5. Layer half of the potatoes in a baking dish, followed by half of the bacon, half of the sautéed onions and garlic, and half of the crème fraîche and cheese. Repeat the layers.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can substitute regular bacon for turkey bacon.
  • Ensure the potatoes are sliced evenly for consistent cooking.
