Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in the currants.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and milk together.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.

  7. Cut into rounds using a cookie cutter.
