- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 loaf Texas toast
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper over medium heat until the beef is browned.
- Drain excess fat and stir in diced tomatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the Texas toast, followed by the beef mixture, and then sprinkle half of the cheese. Repeat the layers.
- Pour the egg and milk mixture over the top, then sprinkle the remaining cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the egg is set and the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add your favorite seasonings to the meat mixture.
- This casserole can easily be doubled for larger gatherings.
