- 12 ounces penne pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until the meat is fully cooked.
- Add the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix in the cooked penne pasta and half of the cheddar cheese, stirring until combined.
- Transfer to a baking dish, top with the remaining cheddar and parmesan cheese, and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- Feel free to use whole wheat pasta for a healthier option.
