Crockpot Cabbage Roll Casserole

A hearty and comforting casserole, this Crockpot Cabbage Roll Casserole combines the classic flavors of stuffed cabbage rolls into an easy-to-make dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups beef broth

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef with chopped onion and garlic in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a large crockpot, layer half of the cabbage leaves.
  3. Add the ground beef mixture on top of the cabbage.
  4. Top with rice, diced tomatoes, and remaining cabbage leaves.
  5. Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the top.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until cabbage is tender and rice is cooked.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some Italian seasoning to the meat mixture.
  • Substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
