- 1 head cabbage
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the marinara sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet and stir to combine. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, eggs, half of the mozzarella cheese, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
- Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and blanch them in boiling water for about 2 minutes until softened. Drain and cool.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a lasagna dish.
- Layer cabbage leaves on top of the sauce, then spread a layer of the ricotta mixture. Add another layer of meat sauce.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of meat sauce on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding herbs or spices to the meat sauce.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
