Slow Cooker Beef and Potato Au Gratin

A delicious meal that combines tender beef with creamy potatoes, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into chunks
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Layer half of the potatoes in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Place half of the beef on top of the potatoes.
  3. Add half of the onion and half of the seasoning.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, onion, and seasoning.
  5. Pour beef broth over the layers.
  6. Cook on low for 8 hours or until beef and potatoes are tender.
  7. Stir in the cheese during the last 15 minutes of cooking.

Notes

  • For a creamier dish, add a can of cream of mushroom soup.
  • Adjust seasonings to taste.
