Slow Cooker Chicken Philly Sandwiches

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 whole wheat hoagie rolls
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. Cook the turkey bacon in a pan until crispy, then crumble it on top of the chicken.
  3. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion to the slow cooker.
  4. Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the ingredients.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Once cooked, shred the chicken in the slow cooker.
  7. Serve in hoagie rolls topped with provolone cheese.

Notes

  • Feel free to swap out the turkey bacon for regular bacon if preferred.
  • Can substitute the provolone with your favorite cheese.
