  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the sliced smoked sausage until browned.
  3. In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Slowly whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the cheese, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Add the cooked macaroni and sausage to the cheese sauce, stirring to combine.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly.
